ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Beijing Cultural Heritage Protection Center (CHP) is an independent Chinese NGO who supports communities to protect their cultural heritage throughout China. The target groups of CHP are children, university students, artists and architects, lawyers, tourism industry representatives, journalists, community leaders, and government bureaucrats and leaders, who are active in public education, cultural heritage protection of minorities and media mobilization.

CHP believes that people who respect their culture and have a sense of community are more likely to exercise their cultural rights, and through exercising these rights achieve a higher personal happiness and civic consciousness.

The discussion will illustrate CHP’s difficult ten year establishment process, and its efforts to become a central advocate of civil society.
