The catalogue for artist Mo Yi’s first institutional retrospective, Mo Yi: Selected Photographs 1983-2003 is edited by exhibition curator Holly Roussell, and features a preface by UCCA Director Philip Tinari, along with essays by Roussell and Christoph Wiesner, director of the Rencontres d'Arles International Festival of Photography. The publication’s five chapters introduce five of Mo Yi’s key series from the 1980s onwards, along with the social and cultural context that informed their creation. Selected Photographs features more than 150 high-quality reproductions of the featured artworks, accompanied by Roussell’s descriptions.
