Conversation
Location:  Workshop
Language:  Chinese only

Is there proof of other intelligent life in the universe? Possibly even more intelligent than humans? Would it be possible for humans to coexist with other intelligent life, or would we seek to destroy one another? Contact between human beings and aliens could be like that of Star Trek, unlimited in combinations and possibilities. It might just as well follow the the Dark Forest Principle as described in The Three-body Problem by Liu Cixin: The universe is like a dark forest and each civilization is a hunter with gun with any exposure leading to destruction. Which of the two contradictory opinions is closer to the truth? What would determine the mode of contact with aliens? What rules should be followed in the process? Would something like the "United Federation of Planets" really appear as in the Star Trek series?

For the 50th anniversary of the series, two special guests will host a conversation for 100 participants at UCCA on Nov. 29th. Come and share your thoughts on extraterrestrial civilizations.
