XU Xin, born in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province in 1966, is an independent documentary filmmaker based in Beijing.
Graduated from fine arts faculty, he worked on oil paintings and photography in his early years. In 2000, Xu Xin started his own film studio to make documentaries. His feature length documentaries include: Ma Pi (2002), Fangshan Church (2005), Torch Troupe (2006), Karamay (2010).
