UCCA Beijing

My Family Chronicle—Handmade Book Workshop

2015.4.25
14:00-16:30

Workshops
Location:  UCCA Workshop
Language:  Chinese Only

Included in the “The Chinese Photobook” are rare photobooks made abroad and domestically. Through the pictures we can see the contradictions, changes, developments, and innovations in the history of modern China.

For this event, UCCA would like to further introduce the history and methodology behind the distinct medium by guiding you step by step in the creation of your own unique photobook. Seacy Cao, an experienced tutor in art design and book binding, will guide participants on a tour through the exhibition, pointing out the materials and processes used in the creation of several examples. Then Seacy will assist participants in the creation of their own photobooks, detailing the Chinese and European styles of thread binding, paper cutting, and the setting of photos.
