The European Union Film Festival is initiated by the Delegation of the European Union to China, supported by the State Administration of Film, Radio & TV, and organised by the European Union Chamber of Commerce. The 2012 edition showcases 26 movies from 26 EU Members States and three programmes of short movies in four cities: Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, and Shenzhen.
UCCA will specially screen six films : Michael(Austria), Empties(Czech Republic), In a better world(Danish), Letters to father Jacob(Finland), The Bug Trainer(Lithuania), Simon and the Oaks (Romanian). And this year we will add EUFF: shorts which presents a dynamic selection of short films from cutting-edge European filmmakers. Experience the diversity of Europe from the frozen arctic circle to the sun-soaked Mediterranean coast; from forests and farmland to cities and skyscrapers. These short films will show you that Europe is not only one landscape or climate or culture. Europe is many places, many people, and many stories.
